As a very busy 2016 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the commitment of our network, as we continue to tackle challenges to enhance the employability of Ontario’s youth. We want to commend all of our members for your hard work and dedication this past year!
No doubt 2017 will have much in store for us all. In addition to advancing outcomes for Youth Job Connection, Youth Job Link, Skills Link and Opportunities Fund program participants, we will also be working through the recommendations detailed in the Auditor General of Ontario's 2016 Value-for-Money Audit of Employment Ontario.
Since joining First Work I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with each regional group and discussing the future of First Work and the youth employment sector. Energy, dedication, and thought-leadership are alive and well in the sector, and First Work will be working closely with the network to showcase each of these elements in 2017.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff team, I’d like to wish you all a wonderful holiday. We hope that 2017 brings you and your loved ones all the very best. Like many of you, we will also be taking time enjoy the holidays and closing the office from December 25 to January 2.
See you in the New Year!
