Conference Coordinator

This position will organize speakers, promotions,
facilities registrations, sponsors, committees and lead the coordination of logistical details, as well as onsite execution. The Conference Coordinator enjoys working in teams, and has excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast‐paced environment where many projects are being planned simultaneously.

Wage: $18.00 – $20.00/hour, paid bi-weekly
Hours: 21 hours per week
Location: 895 Don Mills Road (North of Eglinton)
Term: 1 Year

  • Effective and professional communication, both verbal and written.
  • Coordinate program speakers: Research availability and terms of engagement, conduct logistics follow‐up (travel, required information and materials).
  • Prepare and execute promotional strategies: Draft promotional copy, work with designers and printers, liaise with appropriate resources.
  • Regularly review conference websites for content accuracy. Support the registration process, regularly review registration data. Respond to queries.
  • Coordinate venues: Site selection, catering, audio visual, hospitality, and post-event feedback.
  • Prepare and execute sponsorship and exhibitor strategies: Conduct sales follow‐up, logistics follow‐up, and relationship development.
  • Prepare call for abstracts and speakers. Regularly review submission information.
  • Prepare, collate and distribute conference materials. Execute events on‐site, travel to event destination, prepare materials, equipment and schedules.

Member Relations Coordinator

This position will be responsible for providing administrative and coordinating support to member relations, marketing, and conference and event activities. The Member Relations Coordinator will provide membership recruitment/sales, retention, database maintenance, member recognition, marketing and support event management (registration, logistics, speaker management, and sponsorship).

Wage: $18.00 – $20.00/hour, paid bi-weekly
Hours: 21 hours per week

Term: 1 Year

  • Act as a customer service representative for all membership activities. Provide the first point of contact for incoming phone calls and emails from members and potential members.
  • Develop sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain membership policies, procedures, data and records.
  • Establish and maintain membership procedures.
  • Track metrics and produce regular reports.
  • Coordinate member recruitment activities such as identification of member prospects, member applications and onboarding programs.
  • Coordinate member retention activities such as member visits and renewal processes.
  • Support team in drafting marketing and event collateral, develop creative briefs for membership and events.
  • Produce and distribute member materials for delivery in print, online and via social media, e-mail blasts etc.

Development Writer

This position is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations, Corporations, and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate First Work’s mission and programs to potential funders.

Wage: $18.00/hour, paid bi-weekly
Hours: 21 hours per week
