Shared Resource Library Pilot Project
Collaboration online to Serve Our Youth Better.
The Online News and Resources Pilot Project is designed to enhance the technological capacity of the youth employment network across the Province by collaboratively providing accurate and up-to-date information to youth online.
The Online News and Resources Pilot Project will be designed to enable 10 Youth Employment Centres to easily post and share information between web sites, building agencies’ online services for youth. Through the course of this 6-month pilot initiative, First Work hopes to accomplish several key objectives:
- Provide youth with easier access to pertinent online employment information across Ontario (online and offline)
- Raise awareness of employment programs and volunteer opportunities for youth
- Improve the sharing of information and resources between Youth Employment Centres across Ontario
- Centralize and coordinate online youth-focused resources
- Leverage technology for maximum use with minimal investment of agency resources
First Work, in partnership with 10 member agencies, launched a new Resource Library on Aprili 10, 2002, dedicated to serving the Youth Employment Sector in Ontario. Wiith 11 organizations across the province contributing resources, we have a constantly expanding database of resources valuable to Youth, Employers, and Employment Service Providers alike.
