Kay’s Project

In Memory of Kay Eastham
and Her Commitment to Youth Employment

First Work (OAYEC) is pleased to present its study of the double cohort, based on province-wide research on the implications of the double cohort for work-bound youth. This project was completed as part of Kay’s Memorial Project in memory of Kay Eastham and her commitment to youth employment.

Research in Memory of Kay Eastham engaged the passion and potential of young researchers to produce papers on three contemporary topics in youth employment that were close to Kay’s heart. The money raised from Youth Employment Centres, Private Companies and Individuals provided funding to cover all costs of First Work’s “double cohort” research – which recently received coverage in 8 newspapers and 3 radio news-casts province-wide. The funds also helped launch and disseminate MTCU-funded research projects on school to work transitions and the community economic impact of youth employment services.

First Work, its staff and Board of Directors, would like to thank everyone who supported this effort with their donations and their spirit of solidarity with Kay and her goals.

Sincerely,

Matt Wood
