Research and Programs

First Work undertakes both research and program development initiatives. Our research efforts focus on youth employment issues and the wide dissemination of subsequent findings. Our programs are aimed at enhancing the delivery capacity of the youth employment network accross Ontario.

Our Research

The goal of research and communications at First Work is to build a base of knowledge and share information about youth employment issues with community organizations, governments and the general public. First Work conducts research that speaks to the needs of youth and takes into consideration the social context in which the research is conducted. We believe in research that is done by, for and with people who also have a voice in determining how and why the research is being done.

Our Programs

First Work seeks out opportunities to develop new high-profile initiatives for delivery by our member agencies that will enhance and develop the youth employment network across Ontario. Over the last 10 years, First Work has undertaken many successful projects and continues focusing on program development, opening up opportunities for innovation within the Youth Employment sector.
