Is your organization interested in becoming a member of First Work: The Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres?

First Work always welcomes new members and has two levels of membership to accommodate youth employment service providers across Ontario: Strategic Membership and Stakeholder Membership.

Strategic Membership

Those eligible for Strategic Membership include:

• Non-Profits
• “Community-Based” Organizations (non-legislated)
• Those with a 3-year history of youth employment
  or
• Organizations accepted by motion of the Board
  or
• Organizations “grandfathered” in

Benefits of Strategic Membership include:

• Voting rights at Annual General Meeting and eligibility for Board seats
• Input to and influence of Government Relations that affect youth employment
• Input to and influence of Strategic Communications that affect youth employment
• Influence on and ability to participate in Professional Development activities (Futures Conference, Job Developers Institute and other conferences / professional development)
• Influence on and participation in Knowledge Transfer activities (Hire Prospects, www.hireprospects.org, Evidence)

Strategic Membership Fee Structure

• $1000.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget greater than $500,000
• $750.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget greater than $200,000, but less than $500,000
• $500.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget less than or equal to $200,000

(Operating Budget defined by Employment Ontario “funded site” or equivalent program)

Stakeholder Membership

Those eligible for Stakeholder Membership include:

• Legislated Non-Profit Groups (Colleges, Universities, Hospitals, Municipalities, Boards of Education)
• Youth Employment Projects (Skills Link operators, United Way, Foundations)
• Other Non-Profits (Unions, Co-ops, Social Enterprises, optional)
• Individuals and For-Profits

Benefits of Stakeholder Membership include:

• Influence on and ability to participate in Professional Development activities (Futures Conference, Job Developers Institute and other conferences / professional development)
• Influence on and participation in Knowledge Transfer activities (Hire Prospects, www.hireprospects.org, Evidence)

Stakeholder Membership Fee Structure

• $500.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget greater than $500,000
• $375.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget greater than $200,000, but less than $500,000
• $250.00 for agencies with an annual Operating Budget less than or equal to $200,000

(Operating Budget defined by Employment Ontario “funded site” or equivalent program)
